Effective communication, coordination combined with highly skilled tradesmen who respected our home and our privacy ensured our bathroom renovations were stress free. After each day’s work the building area was left clean and tidy with all rubbish removed at the end of the project.

Our first contact with Houston Constructions was with David, to see if they did small renovations, as we were thinking about construction of a rear deck in the backyard, and to our amazement he arrived within hours of that first phone call, unlike other contractors. Quotes were obtained and we decided to use Houston Constructions. From the time they commenced work until completion of the project, we found the professionalism of their operations to be exceptional, from not only their tradesmen but in keeping us up to date about what was happening  and the time frame of when it was going to happen. Plus the supervision of David on site every day to see that everything was being done to both our and his satisfaction. We would have no hesitation in recommending Houston Constructions for projects similar to ours.

I found David through the newspaper, he promised to keep appointments, work within my budget and turn up on time. I found this to be true on all accounts. I am truly delighted with the result and would recommend Houston Constructions to anyone.

My husband and I purchased our home whilst holidaying overeas. Downsizing from a larger home, we were attracted to the home because of its location to the Jetty area, and its potential. I sent three emails to local builders, and Dave was the only one to go around to the house within days of receiving the email and looking at our suggestions for future renovations. Emails continued, and we met Dave within days of returning home. He introduced us to a designer who fined tuned our ideas and plans submitted to council. Our stipulation for family reasons was to have the house liveable by March. It was late October. On paper an ensuite, a few walls removed, bathrooms update and a small extension to open up the rear of the property all seemed simple. We in fact were creating a brand new home, with new roofing, electrical and plumbing. December arrived and work started on the front section. Until Christmas we lived in the house around the tradesman, and then moved in with friends for 3 months.

Worked commenced at a frantic pace after Christmas, and there was never a day when Gianni, his foreman and boys were not on site. Dave's experience ensured that all the contract tradesman were there when the next job was ready to start. At one stage, you could look straight from the front of the house to the back! Daunting for us, but the boys knew their craft and suddenly everything was coming together and we could see how it would all fit. My husband was happy to do all the odd jobs such as taking the rubbish to the tip and we both started painting.

March arrived and suddenly we were moving in furniture, whilst the tilers were finishing off and kitchen being fitted, ready for our overseas family to arrive. By choice we decided to complete the building of the double garage at the front in June, and once again all was ready for a prompt start and tradesman ready to complete the work.

We cannot speak more highly of Dave Houston and his staff. Dave ensured by his expertise as a builder that the job was completed with our utmost satisfaction, his attention to detail, and on time. He communicated with us on a regular basis and with Gianni and boys we continually chatted out the 101 little things that come up. We have a home that we love, and would recommend Houston Constructions for all renovations large or small.

We were really impressed by the work done by Houston’s. They did a first class job and worked very well with our volunteers on site. The tradesmen in your team we very courteous and punctual. As this is an unusual building there were many complications that Houston’s resolved for us in a very timely and efficient manner. We would use them again if the need arises.

Yours truly, Jenny Wilson, President, Friends of the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden.
