The Project: Built in the 1970’s the two-storey brick home was in neat but tired original condition. The existing home of three bedrooms plus en suite and main bathroom was expanded to accommodate two new bedrooms and another full bathroom plus separate living areas and a full internal update.  Designed to take a maximum advantage of the panoramic views on offer, the new upper level is positioned to catch cool breezes and provide a relaxing and spacious outdoor area whilst the existing ground level has been brought right up to date with new fixtures and finishes.

Client Wanted: The owners had a clear idea of what they wanted, including a strict specification that the resulting renovation was to be seamlessly blended with the current structure, plus instructions to avoid ‘building a box on top’. Owners wanted to be part of the daily decision making and progress of the job.

Our Solution: Working in association with Paul Rollason Architectural Services to provide a finish that is in keeping with the neighbourhood, taking advantage of views, privacy and zones within an open plan house. Working closely with the owners is imperative to good flow of both ongoing interior design and working with in the home. This resulted in daily meetings to discuss the progress, make changes and order materials. The materials used in this renovation were chosen with utmost care to complement the natural surroundings and highlight the stunning location.

The Result: A home with outstanding views from North West to South, taking in the magnificent ocean views and the mountains to the West and South west. The existing living areas are open light and welcoming. Flow throughout the living areas is easy and creates many living areas, both indoor and outdoor. The home was winner in H.I.A. (Housing Industry Association) regional NSW awards in 2006 for renovations under $450,000, the overall winner of renovations and a finalist, one of only four, in the H.I.A. State awards for 2006 The owners enthusiastic involvement allowed for consistent flow of work with little hindrance.
